The United Nations is holding a competitive examination for English-language interpreters on January 12 and 13, 2011. The deadline for applications is December 10, 2010.

Qualified exam candidates must have:
English as their main language
An excellent knowledge of French and Russian or Spanish
The examination will consist of two parts:
1. Simultaneous interpreting into English from recordings of three speeches delivered in French (approximately 8 to 10 minutes per recording)
2. Simultaneous interpreting into English from recordings of three speeches delivered in Russian or Spanish (approximately 8 to 10 minutes per recording)
Candidates who successfully complete the exam will be placed on a roster from which present and future vacancies in New York, Geneva, Vienna, and Nairobi will be filled. Look for additional details using the link below.
